As we find ourselves in times of fear and uncertainty, we may be feeling low in mood and energy. It is during such times that we must endeavour to let go of what we cannot control, and to focus on things upon which we can rely.

Does living in fear stop you from fully living? In society today we carry so many fears, whether they are physical, social, emotional, political, or global. We all experience fear, whether we are introvert or extrovert, young or old, strong or weak, rich or poor.
The way in which we form and maintain friendships has significantly changed over the past few decades. In times gone by we would have relied upon school walks, the village grapevine, address books, and a telephone landline as the basic foundation to platonic connections. Nowadays, with the ease of social media and instant messaging, we could assume that we would have enhanced communication which in turn strengthens friendships. Sadly, the impact of our digital era could not be further from the truth.
Nothing affirms life more than death. Even a “mini-death,” such as the loss of a relationship, health, purpose, or finances, can serve as a reminder of the fragility of our life. It is through spending time with dying patients that I have witnessed the painfully simplistic realisations of what is truly important in life, and just how integral our emotions are in our everyday life.
I used to be one of those alcohol-fuelled revellers who effortlessly danced from one day to the next, feeling invincible. However, there comes a time in all of our lives where everything we know and trust changes.
