Life is good when you know exactly what it is that you want to do. However, when you don’t know what it is you want to do, life can suddenly feel somewhat more difficult and stagnant than you wish it to be.
It is said “time heals” which suggests that over time, our wounds, be they physical or emotional, will naturally start to heal. I think that in terms of loss, such as the death of a loved one, time can start to soothe the initial rawness we experience, but does time ever heal us entirely?
I recently wrote a book chapter titled Great Expectations which tells of how my beautiful Dad used to say “Never have expectations in life then you will never be disappointed.” There is an absolute element of truth to his words but as we go about our daily lives, whether or not we are aware of it, we do carry great expectations with us.
